New Delhi:
Union Minister Smriti Irani today called Congress leader and former MP Rahul Gandhi a “frustrated dynasty” after he criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to France and his “silence” on the Manipur issue.
“A man who wants international intervention in India’s internal affairs, a desperate dynast who mocks India when our PM gets a national honour, mocks ‘Make in India’ ambition,” Ms Irani tweeted.
Further, taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, he added, “Rejected by the people, he no longer lands defense deals at the dynasty’s doorstep”.
Earlier today, Rahul Gandhi criticized PM Modi’s “silence” on the Manipur violence.
“Manipur is burning. EU Parliament discussed India’s internal affairs. Prime Minister did not say a word on either! Meanwhile, Rafale has been given a ticket to the Bastille Day parade,” said the Congress leader.
It is worth mentioning that Manipur was hit by violence in May after the High Court ordered the state government to consider including the Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
Also, the Congress leader and former MP visited the state on June 29 and said, “Manipur needs peace to heal”.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in France on Thursday. On Friday, he attended the Bastille Day parade as a ‘guest of honour’.
French President Emmanuel Macron awarded the Prime Minister with France’s highest honour.
