The greatest Indian cricket captain of all time is no longer playing internationally but still has a huge fan following. Recently, he toured Chennai for the promotion of a film titled Thala. He met fans and celebrities like Vignesh Sivan and Yogi Babu. A video has gone viral on social media where Dhoni, who recently led Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL title, can be seen sharing some funny moments with popular actor Yogi Babu.

The former Indian skipper recently celebrated his 42nd birthday where the entire world witnessed a new height of fandom. The entire social media was flooded with wishes and posts for “Captain Cool”. Not only fans but former and current cricketers also shared their wishes.
Dhoni made his international cricket debut in 2004 and made a name for himself as a ferocious hitter of the cricket ball, but over time, Dhoni turned into a finisher who steered his team to victory with his calculated aggression and brilliant tactics.
Dhoni’s strongest format was ODI. He scored 10,773 runs at an average of 50.57 from 350 matches in the format. He scored 10 centuries and 73 fifties for India and scored 183 runs without getting out.
The wicketkeeper-batsman is India’s fifth highest run-scorer in ODIs (joint with Sachin Tendulkar with 18,426 runs). He is also the 11th all-time leading batsman in ODIs. His stats are even more amazing that he managed to score more than 10,000 runs at an average of over 50.
Dhoni, who plays for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, led the team to their fifth title in the recently concluded edition. However, his participation as a player in IPL 2024 will depend on his fitness.
