Jasprit Bumrah has been out of action since 2022 due to a major injury, but the star fast bowler could make a comeback very soon. Bumrah is said to be training hard at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and according to a new video, he has made great strides in his journey. In a video that is going viral on social media, it was a picture of him bowling full throttle in the nets, which has become a big news for all the Indian cricket team fans. Bumrah last played in a T20 against Australia in 2022 and could make a comeback in the series against Ireland.

Indian Express reports that Bumran may be included in the Indian squad for the tour of Ireland. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to send the second tier Indian team to Ireland. With Bumrah making significant progress at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, Bumrah is likely to make the trip for the series in August as well.

A PTI report had revealed last month that Buma has started bowling in the NCA and will start playing some practice matches soon.

“For an injury like this, it is not wise to set a timeline as it requires constant monitoring. But let’s say Bumrah is on the mend and has bowled seven overs in the NCA nets. It is a gradual increase in his workload. From light workouts and bowling sessions in the initial period, he will play a few practice matches (in the NCA) next month. , then his fitness will be assessed next,” a source tracking the development told PTI.

Team India’s former strength and conditioning coach Ramji Srinivasan said that utmost care should be taken while bringing Bumrah back.

“He should not rush. Playing practice matches in NCA is a good step as it will help tune his body to the demands of a match. But he should be forced to play some real (domestic) matches before putting him at the top level cricket,” Ramji said.
