Heavy rains lashed some parts of Mumbai in the last 24 hours and the Met department has issued a ‘yellow’ alert in the city for moderate to heavy rains on Monday.
The island city, eastern and western suburbs received an average rainfall of 58.42 mm, 69.15 mm and 70.41 mm respectively during the 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Monday, a civic official said.
In the morning, some parts of Mumbai received light rain or occasional heavy rain, while some areas received no rain.
The Mumbai center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘yellow’ alert on Monday, predicting moderate to heavy rainfall in the city.
IMD Mumbai has predicted moderate to heavy rain in the next 24 hours in its daily weather forecast on Monday morning, civic officials said.
Civil officials said no waterlogging was reported anywhere in the city.
Train services of Central Railway and Western Railway and bus services of Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) are normal, officials said.
