One of the most commercially successful filmmakers in the Hindi film industry, Rohit Shetty says he takes failures and learns from them. The director known for blockbuster franchise “Golmaal” and cop movies “Zinc“, “Simba” among others had a poor outing with his last film “the circus“, based on the popular play “The Comedy of Errors” by William Shakespeare.
Starring Ranveer Singh, Varun SharmaStarring Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez, the film opened in December 2022 to great response from audiences and critics.
“It’s honestly surprising. But you analyze what went wrong and take responsibility. You work on it and move on,” Shetty said.
The director said he is realistic that “Circus” is not his first film to fail at the box office, and it won’t be his last.
“My first film ‘Sameen’ didn’t do well, ‘Nhayar’ didn’t do well, ‘Dilwale’ didn’t do well. This is the fourth time. My aim is to do 25 to 30 films, of which three-four will be like ‘Circus’ again,” he said. added
The director, who is about to complete 20 years in cinema, said that he is thankful to the audience for accepting him.
“It has been a great and amazing journey. When I started with my first film (‘Sameen’) or my second film ‘Golmaal’, I never thought that I would reach here and that my films would become a brand.
