Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, will hit the theaters on July 28. However, ahead of release, the film was reviewed by the Central Board of Film Certification, which suggested several changes to the dialogues. Reports say that references to ‘Lok Sabha’ and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee were cut. In addition, a dialogue in an underwear shop scene called ‘degrading women’ was removed and the word ‘bra’ was replaced with ‘item’. Not only that, reports also suggest that the name of the liquor brand ‘Old Monk’ was changed to ‘Bold Monk’ when the censor board’s scissors used abusive words and slang several times in the film. Notably, the two-hour-and-48-minute film received its censor certificate on July 19. With this film, Karan Johar is all set to return to the director’s chair after a gap of seven years. The film is a family drama revolving around the love story of a journalist with Alia from a good Bengali family and Ranveer playing the boy-next-door. For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
