New Delhi: Indian Hero Rohit Sharma Appreciated Muhammad Siraj For stepping up in the absence of experienced pacers after a 1-0 series win against the series West Indies.

Siraj won his first Man of the Match award in the traditional five-day game after taking 5 for 60 in West Indies’ first innings of the second Test, which ended in a tie after rain marred the fifth and final day’s play at Queen’s Park Oval.

Chasing a daunting target of 365, West Indies were 76 for two at the close of play on the fourth day.

“We are in the right place and it’s about getting the job done,” Rohit said at the launch event.
Asked if Siraj is ready to lead the pace attack, Rohit said he is not looking at any bowler to take the lead.
“Siraj, I am watching closely. He has taken such a big step. He has led this attack. I don’t want anyone to lead the attack. I want everyone to lead when they have the ball. The entire pace battery has to take responsibility,” he said.

While the rain seemed to have denied India, Rohit said his team was optimistic as the hosts had to bat last despite the demons being less.
“Every win is different. Playing in the West Indies has its own challenges. It’s good that things have progressed. We gave it a good shot and unfortunately we didn’t win any games today. We went in yesterday with a good intention.
“The rain had its last word. We were very confident. You know how difficult it is to bat last. We always wanted the score we wanted the opposition to go for. There was not much on the surface. No game today, we are unlucky.”

The Indian skipper also praised the centurion Virat Kohli And Ishan KishanHe scored 52 off 34 balls in the second innings before the declaration.
“You need guys like Ishaan. We need quick runs, we promoted him, he wasn’t scared, he was the first to put his hand up.
“In Test matches, you need guys who can stabilize the innings like Virat did and he played brilliantly. You need a mixture of everything. We have depth, we have variety,” Rohit said.

Siraj claimed that he was never under pressure despite the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami.
“It’s my first player of the match award in Tests, very happy. Pacers didn’t have much help. I kept my plans simple and executed.
“When you take wickets in situations like this, you gain confidence. Rohit bhai asked me to believe in myself, not stress and enjoy,” Siraj said.
West Indies captain Craig BrathwaiteAfter watching his team capitulate in Dominica in three days’ time, he said he was happy to see them batting more than 100 overs in the first innings.

In reply to India’s first innings score of 438, West Indies were bowled out for 255 runs. India scored quickly in their second match, finishing at 181 for two in 24 overs.
“We showed some fight with the bat in this game. In terms of bowling, we can be more disciplined. It was a good comeback from the batsmen. We lost five wickets yesterday, which is not good. It’s nice to bat 100+ overs for the top-order,” Brathwaite said.
“We were positive and we had 98 overs on a relatively good pitch. It (the chase) continued. Unfortunately we didn’t stand a chance with the weather.
“Preparation is important. We have to bat for a long time against good teams. In some countries club cricket is happening,” he added.
