The Environmental Plan for Bass Strait Seismic Testing is open for comment

Australia’s offshore energy regulator Nopsema has released an environmental plan for seismic testing in waters west of King Island in Bass Strait.

Energy data company TGS has applied to test the search for oil and gas, and is now accepting public submissions on its 14-hundred-page environmental plan.

Allie King, a marine scientist at Surfrider Foundation Tasmania, will submit a submission opposing the large-scale experiment, which she says will be large-scale and destroy marine ecosystems over a wide area.
