As more and more filmmakers resort to films with a pan-Indian appeal, the lines between regional film industries and Hindi cinema are definitely blurring. This means that actors are no longer confined to a particular language and are more open to exploring different industries. In this regard, many Bollywood stars have played terrifying villain roles in South Indian films recently, and here are some of our favorite performances.

1) Sanjay Dutt

2) Neil Nitin Mukesh

Actor Neil Nitin played villain to Mukesh Dalapathy Vijay in AR Murgadoss film Kathi. Neil played the role of the CEO of a multinational company with ulterior motives.

3) Jackie Shroff

Jackie Shroff’s performance as Simhaperumal in Aranyakanda is one of the greatest villains in Tamil cinema. Apart from this, the veteran actor has acted as the antagonist in many films like Astram, Pancha, Bigil etc. But that’s not all, Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer will see him step into the villain role again.

4) Vivek Oberoi

After Ram Gopal Varma’s Company and Rajat Mukherjee’s Road, Vivek Oberoi has been roped in to play one of the greatest villains in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Mohanlal-titled Lucifer. In a film filled with popular names as the perfect cast, Vivek Oberoi stands out with his performance as Bobby, a misogynistic drug smuggler. After the success of Lucifer, Vivek next starred in Tiger, where he played the villain alongside Prithviraj.


5) Mukesh Rishi

Mukesh Rishi is one of the most popular actors not only in Bollywood but also in South Indian cinema. The actor has played the role of villain in many films like Indran, Bunny, Jalsa, Race Gurum. Mukesh Rishi has also given terrifying performances in many Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films.

6) Sonu Sood

Sonu Sood is probably one of the most popular Hindi actors who has cemented his place in South Indian cinema. Sonu found a permanent place in the hearts of the Telugu audience with films like Arundhati, Julai and Dookudu. If an actor is cast in a positive role in a film, we will be surprised to some extent. Sonu became a villain not only in Telugu but also in Kichcha Sudeep’s Kannada film Vishnuvardhana.
