WATCH: Shan Masood hits the bullseye for a second time in injury time. Prabat Jayasuriya stop 2nd Sri Lanka-Pakistan Test Match.
At 137-7, Sri Lanka were in trouble in their first innings in Colombo, their woes compounded when Prabat Jayasuriya and Ramesh Mendis were bowled out for one.
The batsmen decided to sneak away with a quick single off the last ball of the 39th over bowled by Abrar Ahmed after Mendis played the ball towards Shan Masood and called Jayasuriya for a run.
However, Jayasuriya was sent back after realizing that Masood had reached the ball faster than expected.
However, Jayasuriya, who was halfway down the track at this point, despite his best efforts, found it too short after Masood quickly picked up the ball and threw it to the non-striker’s end.
The easy dismissal sent laughter among the Pak fielders. Lanka slipped further and were eventually bowled out for 166.
It was Masood’s second run-out in the innings as he also returned Nishan Madushka, who started Sri Lanka’s downfall.
