Hyderabad: India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued a red alert for Telangana amid forecast of very heavy to very heavy rainfall in various districts of the state for three days.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over the eastern districts of Telangana on July 25. Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal, Bhikharabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mehbubnagar, Nagarkurnol, Siddhipet, Jangaon, Rajanna Sircilla and Karimnagar are likely to receive heavy rain at times.
Rains will continue in Telangana till July 27
On July 26, heavy to very heavy rains, and at times, extremely heavy rains are likely over East Telangana, parts of North Telangana and Central Telangana. Hyderabad and its adjoining districts are also likely to experience heavy rainfall.
Telangana’s capital city is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on July 27.
A red alert has been issued in Hyderabad due to heavy rains
For Hyderabad, the department has issued an orange alert for today, forecasting that all six districts – Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad and Serilingampally – will experience moderate rainfall. Heavy rainfall is also predicted in the city.
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Hyderabad on July 26 and 27.
Nizamabad recorded maximum rainfall of 464 mm in last 24 hours. In Hyderabad, Charminar received heavy rainfall of 79 mm as reported by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS).
In light of the rainfall forecast, it is strongly advised that residents take necessary precautions and plan their travel accordingly.
