Apple’s upcoming iOS 17 introduces two AirDrop improvements. First, users can initiate AirDrop by bringing their iPhone near the recipient’s device. Second, large file transfers such as videos and photos can continue in full quality over the Internet, allowing users to continue their work while the transfer is complete. The second feature will be available after the initial iOS 17 release and will require both the sender and recipient to be signed into iCloud.
