Weather Update: Maximum temperature to rise in northwest India, heat wave in West Bengal, Bihar |  IMD forecast

Temperatures have been rising in many parts of India for the past few days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature is likely to rise by two to four degrees Celsius over the plains of northwest India in the next five days.

New Delhi: Temperatures have been rising in many parts of India for the past few days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature is likely to rise by two to four degrees Celsius over the plains of northwest India in the next five days. Similarly, the maximum temperature in central India is expected to rise by two to three degrees Celsius over the next three days.
Meanwhile, heat wave is likely to continue till June 6 in some parts of Bihar. Isolated pockets of West Bengal, East Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Telangana are expected to continue towards east till June 10. Uttar Pradesh between 7th and 10th June and West Uttar Pradesh between 8th and 10th June.

The low pressure formed over Southeast Arabian Sea is likely to move northwards and become a cyclonic storm over East Arabian Sea and adjoining Southeast during the next 12 hours. Rain is forecast for southern parts of the country in the coming days.

“Light/moderate to widespread rain likely over Kerala, Lakshadweep, south Karnataka with thunder/lightning/wind; Isolated for scattered activity over coastal, north Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh for the next 5 days, IMD said. In its weather bulletin. Heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on June 6, 7 and 10, Kerala till June 10 and South Karnataka on June 9 and 10.

Rains are also predicted in Northeast India. “Thunderstorm or moderate to widespread rain is likely over the region during the next 5 days. Isolated heavy rain is very likely over Manipur on 06, Manipur and Mizoram on 07 and Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on June 10,” the Meteorological Department said.

Meanwhile, isolated light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely over northwest India on June 6 and 7. Thunderstorm (speed 50-60 kmph) is expected over West Rajasthan on June 6 and 7 and East Rajasthan on June 6.
