Andhra Pradesh: World Environment Day Award to Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Puttaparthi.

Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (SSSIHMS) has received an award for “Clean and Green Enterprises with Best Practices in Environmental Management” on the occasion of World Environment Day 2023.

SSSIHMS (PG) Director Gurumurthy and Chief Engineer P. Haranath received the award from Energy, Environment and Forests Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy at a function organized by the AP Pollution Control Board (APPSCB), according to a release issued by the institute. , ‘Solutions to Plastic Pollution’, in Vijayawada.

The hospital is committed to promoting environmental management and energy conservation within the campus through green initiatives such as a 500-KLD capacity sewage treatment plant, 1.9-MW capacity solar power generation, check dams for water conservation, tree plantation and biomedical waste segregation. Easy removal and energy-efficient lighting with proper color coding.

The 300-bed tertiary care hospital is equipped with 14 operation theatres, five intensive care units, two cardiac catheterization laboratories, five in-patient wards and a 24-hour emergency unit with specialties in cardiology, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, urology and ophthalmology. Plastic surgery, orthopedics, gastroenterology, anesthesiology, laboratory services, medical imaging.
