HOLLYWOOD, SC (WCBD) – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is asking for the community’s help in gathering information about a Memorial Day shootout that left one person dead and five others injured.
CCSO says the incident happened just before 10:00pm at a block party near Church Hill Road and Storage Road.
More than 100 rounds were fired from 13 different firearms, including rifles, shotguns and pistols.
Deshaun Stephens, 22, was killed in the shooting.
Sheriff Christine Graziano held a community meeting Monday in Hollywood to call attention to the issue of gun violence and urge community members to come forward with information that could lead to arrests.
“We need solutions to these problems. Only the community can solve this problem,” Graziano said. “We can help you, but you have to do it.”
