Hero Extreme 200R, 125R Speed Testing, Launch Soon

Get a glimpse of the upcoming Hero MotoCorp motorcycles as spy shots reveal the sporty Xtreme 200R successor and the new Xtreme 125R.

Excitement is building as spy shots of two upcoming Hero MotoCorp motorcycles from Jaipur surface. Among them, the first test mule showcases a sporty 125cc commuter model designed to rival the TVS Rider and Bajaj Pulsar 125. LED lighting, split-seat design, telescopic forks at the front, monoshock at the rear and split-type alloy wheels, this new Hero motorbike presents a stylish and well-appointed package. Notably, the spacious fuel tank with knee recesses adds to its appeal.

Under the body panels, we expect the Hero to use the proven engine from the Glamor 125 offering a displacement of 124.7cc. Though the exact figures are yet to be confirmed, expect the power and torque figures to slightly exceed the Glamor’s output of 10.72 bhp and 10.6 Nm. The transmission unit will be a 5-speed gearbox. With better performance, the Extreme 125R will be a great rival to the TVS Rider.

Moving on to the second test mule, it represents the successor to the now discontinued Extreme 200R. With a striking presence, the bike features Hero’s signature H-shaped LED DRL and LED headlamp. Prominent tank extensions, wide front tyre, telescopic front forks, rear monoshock and disc brakes equipped with dual channel ABS contribute to its aggressive styling.

While the engine specifications are not revealed from the spy shots, we expect the motorcycle to use the same 199.6cc engine found in the Xpulse 200, possibly with a 4-valve head configuration. It boosts the power and torque to 18.9 bhp and 17.35 Nm, giving better performance.

Although the official launch dates for both these motorcycles have not been announced, we expect them to arrive by the end of this year. Hero MotoCorp has announced plans to expand its lineup in the domestic market with premium motorcycles. Dominating the commuter segment, the company is now aiming to make a significant foray into the premium segment.

Seeing the test mules in Jaipur gives a glimpse of Hero MotoCorp’s upcoming offerings. The sporty 125cc commuter model and its successor, the Xtreme 200R, offer superior performance, attractive designs and riding fun. Coupled with Hero’s huge dealer and service network, both these bikes definitely have the potential to win.
