Delhi Flood News Live | The BJP Center slammed the AAP government for the extreme weather
As the national capital faces a flood-like situation, the BJP-ruled Center and the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government have stepped in. As Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah seeking the Centre’s intervention, some BJP leaders pointed fingers at the mismanagement of the AAP government.
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said the chief minister must account for the Rs 65,000 crore allocated for cleaning the Yamuna river which has led to flooding in several nearby areas.
Cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir said Kejriwal should tell the people of Delhi how much money was spent on city infrastructure and how much on advertising.
He said, “It is our responsibility to save Delhi
“Instead of blaming the Centre, they (AAP government) should reveal how much they have spent on infrastructure in Delhi,” he added.
Commenting on the situation, Union Minister Anurag Thakur accused Kejriwal of “always running away from his responsibilities”. He added that the Center has already released Rs 361 crore in two installments to Himachal Pradesh and further financial assistance will be released once the state government sends an estimate of the overall damage assessment.
