Andrew Bird explores the essence of the environment on new LP ‘Outside Trouble’

Acclaimed musician Andrew Bird has revealed his latest musical venture, External problemsA precursor and extension of his album Internal problems-Will be released digitally on July 21st via Loma Vista Recordings. A collection of nine instrumental improvisations and melodic explorations that aim to capture the essence of music in everyday life.
Bird recorded the album primarily in the beautiful surroundings of Ojai, California, among the mountains and orange groves, reminiscent of his environment. Echolocations series.
Tracks are on External problemsThe feature arrangements and motifs would evolve into themes that would later be discovered, including “Epilogue,” “Mormon House Party,” and “Tik Tok.” inside problems. In a statement, Byrd explained that none of these songs were originally intended for an album, but rather moments of melodic exploration over time. He continued, “I can capture the sound of music in everyday life, which is very difficult to do. I was playing for the joy of it and to get these ideas out of my head. to hear them in a room.”
Along with the album announcement, Bird released a music video for the track “Mo Teef”. In collaboration with Patagonia and filmmaker Tyler Manson, the video showcases stunning landscapes from various Patagonia films, highlighting the importance of environmental protection. The video aims to raise awareness about the Earth’s important and endangered landscapes, emphasizing the need for humanity to take responsibility for their conservation.
Byrd made a direct statement about the overarching message of his artistic endeavour: “Earth has no obligation to support life. Earth is indifferent. We personify nature and call it mother, deflecting our own duty to preserve and protect. Nature is not a mother. Nature is our fortune, our fortune. We make it.” And wasteful. What if conservation becomes our livelihood? It is.”

Also, Andrew Bird will be embarking on the Inside Problems Tour starting July 20th. The tour will also feature The Bellwether in Los Angeles, various amphitheaters on the West Coast, multiple shows in Canada, and Homecoming. show in his native Illinois.
