Apple’s GPT chatbot is already in use internally

Apple isn’t yet sure what to do with the Apple GPT chatbot project on the consumer-facing side, but Gurman’s report at least sheds light on its internal chatbot uses. According to the press release, Apple is looking at ways to expand the use of generative AI within its organization, one possibility being to equip Apple Care support staff to better assist customers dealing with issues.

Caution is justified. Companies like Apple and Samsung have instructed their employees not to use chatbots because their “paranoia” of generating false information can be as destructive as a lawyer who used ChatGPT to create a brief full of completely fabricated cases.
