The primary purpose behind all tasks in Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Online is to earn money. According to this article, there are endless ways to generate income in the game and players have complete freedom to choose which way they follow. While some profit from businesses, others plan elaborate heists with their accomplices to make millions. Additionally, Rockstar Games introduces new ways to do this as part of major DLC updates.
However, sorting the best out of the many options can be difficult for some players. Here are five best and easiest ways to earn money in GTA Online in July 2023.

Payphone Hits and 4 Other Best Ways to Make Money in GTA Online (July 2023)
1) Armored truck robberies
After being removed from the game in 2015, armored truck heists are back with the latest GTA Online weekly update. This is a random event that will help you earn a decent amount of money quickly. After joining a public or private lobby, you have to wait about 16 minutes for an armored truck to appear in the game.
Once you see it, use a sticky bomb to blow open its back door and loot the cash inside. Attacking the truck triggers a level that must be lost to complete this random event.
The payout for armored truck heists is doubled this week, with each successful hit paying $50,000.
2) Security agreements
To play Security Contracts in GTA Online, you must purchase a Celebrity Solutions Agency. There are six types of security contracts, one of which can be selected at any time. Each one includes a unique scene that is totally fun and easy to complete.
These can be played solo and their payouts depend on the difficulty level. Here’s a breakdown of how much you can earn by completing a security contract at various difficulty levels:
- Professional – Between $31,000 and $42,000
- Specialist – Between $44,000 and $56,000
- Specialist + – $60,000 to $70,000
However, the cost of celebrity solutions agencies makes them inaccessible to GTA Online beginners.
3) Payphone hits
To unlock Payphone Hits in the game, you must complete three security agreements. Once that’s done Franklin will contact you, then go to the Payphone icon and play Payphone Hits.
They are similar to the assassination missions familiar to longtime Grand Theft Auto players. Although the base payout for each attempt is $15,000, it can be increased to $85,000 if they complete within 15 minutes and meet all additional mission objectives.
It remains to be seen if such assassination missions will return in Grand Theft Auto 6.
4) G’s cache
G’s Cache is one of the newest ways to earn money in GTA Online. It is also straightforward to complete. After every 24 hours, a purple crate icon appears on the game’s map at a new location, indicating the coordinates of that day’s G’s Cache.
Reaching that location triggers a reasonably sized search area in which you must search for G”s cache. Once collected, you’ll receive between $15,000 and $20,000 in cash, snacks, and ammo.
5) Cayo Perico Heist Elite Challenge
The Cayo Perico Heist Elite Challenge is a bonus awarded for completing the Heist Finale within 15 minutes. This may seem like a challenging task, but the reality is that it is very easy to perform.
Cayo Perico Heist is the best money maker in the game as players can earn up to two million dollars in a maximum of one and a half hours. The downside is that all setup missions must be completed on each restart. However, they only take about 45 minutes.
