A Bollywood legend was spotted eating Indian street food in Edinburgh.
Actor and comedian Johnny Lever, 65, was one of India’s first stand-up comics and is best known for his work in Hindi cinema since his first big break in the 1980s. Since then he has acted in more than 350 films.
While enjoying a trip to the capital city of Edinburgh, the Bollywood icon visited Fort Kinnaird and popped into Chaiwala for some street food.

Store manager Gurnav said Edinburgh Live It was a ‘joy’ to welcome the star on Saturday. Jonny Lever is ‘delighted’ with food, he said, adding: ‘Your food is amazing!’ The star also enjoyed Karak Chai, a sweet tea made with fermented black tea and spices and sugar.
Gurnav added that they only had six officers so everyone got a chance to meet him and was honored that Johnny chose to eat there.
The restaurant added that it is an honor to welcome Bollywood legend Johnny Lever for some food and karak chai in Fort Kinnaird.
Chaiwala opened in Edinburgh in March this year, as the New Deli-style cafe launched in Scotland.
Along with their brand’s flagship tea, customers can also enjoy desi breakfast, English-ish breakfast, Karachi bun kebab, chicken tikka in naan and masala chips.
