When it comes to firmware, Samsung never sleeps. The company is currently testing One UI 5.1.1 on select devices and developing One UI 6.0. Also, new data collected from its servers says that Samsung is now preparing another firmware update for the Galaxy S23 series.

Galaxy S23, S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra will get another One UI 5.1 update soon. Whether this will happen before or after the Galaxy is unpacked remains to be seen, but the pre-release firmware Samsung is currently testing is build number “AWG5”. (Way @theonecid)

The latest publicly available update for the Galaxy S23 series was released earlier this month. It carries a firmware number ending in the characters “AWFD”. The update brings the July 2023 security patch and weighs around 425MB.

We’ll bring you up to speed as soon as we know more about this upcoming release. Samsung already delivered its big camera update in June, so there won’t be another mega update for Galaxy S23 users anytime soon.

Whenever the next update goes live, SamMobile readers who want to update their phones using their Windows PCs should be able to download the official firmware files from our website.
