Hazardous Weather Watch: Severe thunderstorms with large hail are likely on July 14

Racine and Kenosha Counties – The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Watch for parts of east-central, south-central and southeast Wisconsin.

Racine, Kenosha, Marquette, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Sauk, Columbia, Dodge, Washington, Ozaukee, Iowa, Dane, Jefferson, Waukesha, Milwaukee, and multiple counties can expect severe thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening. Lafayette, Greene, Rock, Walworth.

According to the NWS, the severe weather is expected to affect mainly near the Illinois border.

Additionally, dangerous winds and large hail are the primary threats. Others are isolated and scattered
Storms will continue to affect the rest of southern Wisconsin during the evening, but these storms are unlikely to intensify.

Dangerous weather: looking ahead

Additional chances of thunderstorms can be expected through Sunday as we look forward to days two through seven. The exact timing and potential for each NWS is uncertain at this time.

In addition to the hazardous weather outlook, there is an active air quality advisory in effect across Wisconsin.
