Hyundai Xtre Variant-wise features in detail

Exter is available in five wide variants namely Exter, S, SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect.

Hyundai Xter was recently launched as the carmaker’s entry in the micro SUV segment. While it competes with the Tata Punch, it can be seen as an alternative to the Maruti Ignis, Citroen C3, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and Maruti Franks. Exeter is priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Exter is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that develops 83 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. 5-speed manual and AMT transmissions are optional. Those looking for higher fuel efficiency can opt for its CNG variants, which claim an efficiency of 27.1km/kg but are limited to manual transmission only.

Hyundai offers the Exeter in five variants namely EX, S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Connect What each variant offers:

Hyundai Xter X Variant

Price – 6 lakhs

Hyundai is looking to make a statement about its focus on vehicle safety by offering six airbags as standard for the Exeter. Visually, the Exeter is easily recognizable as the base variant with Bluetooth system, driver’s seat height adjustment and digital instrument cluster.

For active safety features like electronic stability control, hill start assist and vehicle stability management, buyers will have to pay a premium of Rs 25,000 to opt for the Exter X(O).

Hyundai Xter S Variant

Price – 7.27 lakhs to 7.97 lakhs

The Xter S variant gets the following features over the EX variant:

The Exter S is also the entry-level variant of the Exter AMT or Exter CNG.

It gains several visual elements over the EX variant such as wheel covers, LED DRLs, body-coloured ORVMs and door handles. The interior design is also revamped with the addition of a 3D pattern for the dashboard.

In terms of features, there are several essential additions like infotainment system, front C-type USB charger, electrically adjustable ORVMs and rear AC vents.

Safety is enhanced by tire pressure monitoring and manual day/night IRVM. However, ESC, Hill Hold Assist and VSM are still optional and offered by the S(O). Still haven’t got the rear parking camera.

Hyundai Xter SX Variant

Price – 8 Lakh to 8.68 Lakh

The interior takes a step up with semi-leatherette seats and tilt adjustment for the steering wheel. Automatic AC, projector headlamps and cruise control (petrol only) add useful features. This variant finally features a rear parking camera and ISOFIX child seat mounts. It is also the best variant offered with CNG powertrain.

Hyundai Xter SX (O) Variant

Price – 8.64 Lakh to 9.32 Lakh

The second from top SX (O) variant packs these additional features:

The top-spec variant of the Hyundai Xter features the same 8-inch infotainment unit, but in HD quality and connected car technology including Alexa compatibility. It is also the only variant to offer another exterior highlight – a dual-camera dash cam.
