Priyanka against the strike of Hollywood stars

Los Angeles: Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas expressed her support for the strike called by the Hollywood Actors Guild in solidarity with her colleagues.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (SAG-AFTRA) voted Thursday to join screenwriters in the first joint strike after failing to reach consensus on a new contract with studios and streaming services. Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

“I stand with my union and colleagues. In solidarity we build a better tomorrow. #SagAftraStrong #SagAftraStrike,” Priyanka wrote on Instagram Friday night alongside a photo of the SAG-AFTRA logo.

The Hollywood actors’ strike is the first strike since 1980. It is also the first time since the 1960s that two major Hollywood unions have gone on strike at the same time.

Members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) have been on strike since early May, demanding better wages, a higher minimum wage, more writers per show and shorter exclusivity contracts, among other things.

Priyanka was recently seen in streaming service Prime Video’s globetrotting spy series ”Citadel” alongside Richard Madden.

In Hollywood, she has acted in the television series ‘Quantico’ and movies like ‘Baywatch’, ‘Isn’t It Romantic’, ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ and ‘Love Again’.
