West Indies and India are currently participating in the second Test of the two-match series at Port of Spain. After four days of play, the visitors trail the series 2-0 by eight wickets, while the Caribbean side need 289 more runs to win the match and level the series. Throughout the series, Team India made the move to get the result in the Test match and they did the same on Day 4.
Batting just 24 overs in their second essay, they scored 181 before declaring, and multiple rain-soaked matches frustrated both teams. Meanwhile, the forecast for the fifth and final day of the Test series is also not good and Team India’s bowlers will have to be on their toes to pick up the remaining eight wickets. According to Accuweather, there is about a 47% chance of rain at 1pm local time, with thunderstorms expected at 2pm local time.
Although it will remain cloudy after 3pm local time, there may be no rain till then. But light can be a problem for the continuation of play and umpires may call stumps early. As per the forecast, it can be clearly said that Team India has only the first session to sweep the Test series 2-0, or they will have to hope for at least two sessions of rain to take the remaining eight wickets.
As for the match, West Indies have scored 76 runs for the loss of two wickets in their second innings. Ravi Ashwin dismissed both batsmen – Craig Brathwaite and Kirk McKenzie. Taganarine Chanderpaul and Jermaine Blackwood are currently in the middle order and are expected to grind it out in the middle order.
