Ahmedabad (Gujarat) (India), May 7 (ANI): Indian player Wriddhiman Saha became the record holder for Gujarat Titans (GT) by scoring the fastest half-century in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Sunday.
Saha, who hit a 20-ball fifty, scored a 43-ball 81 and laid the foundations for GT to post a mammoth 227/2 against LSG.
The wicketkeeper batted Vijay Shankar who scored two quick fifties. Vijay scored a 21-ball half-century at GT’s home ground against Kolkata Knight Riders and another in 24 balls against KKR.
Saha has scored 273 runs at an average of 27.30 and a strike rate of 137.19 from 11 matches in IPL 2023. This is his first half-century in the ongoing tournament.
Thanks to Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha’s 142-run opening partnership, GT defeated LSG by a huge margin of 56 runs.

After GT set a huge target of 228, LSG got off to a flying start as Kyle Meyers smashed Pandya for a hat-trick four in the second over.
Mohit Sharma broke the 88-run partnership for the first wicket by dismissing Meyers, who scored 48 runs off 32 balls with seven fours and two sixes.
Quinton de Kock battled with Rashid Khan for the main wicket of de Kock who scored 71 off 42 balls.
LSG ended the innings at 171/7 in their 10 overs. GT took six wickets in the next 10 overs conceding only 71 runs. LSG lost the match by 56 runs.
Mohit was the pick of GT’s bowlers in a spell of 4/29 in four overs. Rashid, Noor and Shami took one wicket each.
Shubman hit 94*, however, missed the century by 6 runs.
