Karnataka High Court CJ visited Central Jail on World Environment Day and inaugurated the construction unit

Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Prasanna B Varale inaugurated a new areca nut leaf products manufacturing unit inside Bengaluru Central Jail on Monday on the occasion of “World Environment Day”. The unit aims to promote an eco-friendly environment and say no to plastic.

He was participating in an awareness program organized at the Central Jail. The Chief Justice inaugurated the program by planting a sapling in the Central Jail premises.

Later addressing the jail inmates, he convinced them that “Environment is our mother, it is our duty to protect mother environment and say no to plastic.”

He called upon the gathering to plant more and more saplings for a better future. He also requested Bar Association President Vivek Subba Reddy to join hands with the Jail Authority to distribute the uniforms made in the jail to government schools. He also urged the inmates to make the most of the skills learned in prison for their life skills.

Justice K. who is also the Chairman of High Court Legal Services Committee. Somashekhar emphasized on the importance of environmental protection and its benefits and advised the jail inmates to take advantage of the jail library and increase their knowledge. Various areas to avoid crime.
