Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan hit back at Pakistan fans who took out his old tweet to troll Pakistan A team after their victory over India A in the 2023 Emerging Asia Cup final.
India A went undefeated in the Emerging Asia Cup but lost to their arch-rivals in the summit clash.
The boys in green put up a huge score of 352/8 on the board thanks to Tayyab Tahir (108 off 71 balls).
In reply, India A’s innings was reduced to 224 runs in 40 overs. Abhishek Sharma put up a one-man fightback with 61 as the Boys in Blue suffered a miserable defeat by 128 runs.
After the result, Pathan was targeted by Pakistani fans on social media for his old tweets. Calling them ‘Vele’ also did not catch the former Indian cricketer.
“Ek sunday ke tweet ko abhi tak bhul nahi paye ho. Kitne velle ho? #Neighbor,” Pathan wrote on Twitter.
Pathan was referring to a post made shortly after Virat Kohli scripted India’s surprise win over Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
“Padozion Sunday Kesha Raha,” Irfan had tweeted after India’s victory at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
With India and Pakistan set to face each other in the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup later this year, it won’t be the last time Irfan Pathan faces Pakistan fans on social media.
