Kylian Mbappe wins ‘world record’ bid for €300 million from Saudi Arabia club

Currently the world’s top goalscorer, Kylian Mbappe has been a man who has been making headlines for the past few weeks. The Frenchman has been at loggerheads with his club Paris Saint-Germain over contract situations. With Mbappe looking to leave the club as a free agent in 2024, PSG are keen to extend his contract or sell him to the highest bidder in the current transfer window. As the stalemate over the situation continues, the French club have reportedly received a ‘world record’ bid of €300 million from Saudi Arabia for the highly-in-demand forward.

Paris Saint-Germain have given Saudi club Al Hilal permission to talk to Kylian Mbappe after presenting a world-record 300 million euro ($333 million) bid, sources close to the talks told AFP on Monday. The Riyadh-based club have made a formal offer by letter, but such a transfer could only go ahead with the agreement of Mbappe, who has never expressed interest in a move to the fast-growing Saudi league.

PSG have given Al Hilal permission to negotiate with Kylian Mbappe for €300 million, according to sources. Mbappe has one year left on his contract with PSG and they want him to leave now instead of next summer.

But Mbappe is refusing to sign a new deal and the French champions believe he has already agreed a move to Real Madrid next year.

Even football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Ligue 1 giants have accepted a bid of this caliber from Al-Hilal.

However, it is highly unlikely to see a player like Mbappe heading to a Saudi Arabian club at the peak of his career.

A few days ago, PSG decided to leave Kylian Mbappe out of their squad for the pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, casting further doubt over the forward’s future at the French champions.

PSG did not give a reason for the France captain’s release, but Mbappe, 24, has said for weeks that he is refusing to sign a new contract.

His omission from the tour will fuel fresh speculation of a move to Real Madrid ahead of next season.

Real Madrid have been keen to sign the player for a long time and many believe that some form of agreement is already in place between the two parties. Mbappe’s current PSG contract expires next summer, but there is an option to extend it by another year.
