Pakistan fans trolled Irfan Pathan with an old tweet after India A lost in the Emerging Team Asia Cup.

Former Indian all-rounder, Irfan Pathan is once again embroiled in a clown war with Pakistan fans. It all started with India’s victory over Pakistan in an adrenaline-pumping T20 World Cup 2022 match, and Pathan couldn’t resist taking a swipe at his neighbours. Little did he know that destiny had a surprise in store for him.

As the tables turned in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup as Pakistan A edged out India A to clinch their second title, fans wasted no time in capitalizing on this golden opportunity for a comeback. They unleashed a barrage of trolls on the online battlefield thanks to Tayyab Tahir’s smashing 71-ball 108 and subsequent comprehensive victory.

Pakistan’s score of a mammoth 352 for eight saw India put in a valiant effort but were bowled out for 224 in 40 overs, leading to their first defeat of the tournament. Amidst the celebrations by Pakistan fans, Pathan’s remarks were flooded with memes, GIFs and sharp replies, and he couldn’t escape the good-natured ribbing.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Pathan has faced such ridicule. In November 2022, when Pakistan defied all odds to defeat New Zealand and reach the T20 World Cup final, fans trolled Pathan left, right and centre. Still, Pathan took it all in stride and replied with his own wit. “Padosyon jeet ati jati rahti hai, lekin grace apke bas ki baat nahi hai,” he pointed out, reminding everyone that grace is not limited to winning and losing on the field.

Interestingly, Pakistani fans showed up in the comments of Pathan’s tweet to let him know that they and the team have done “beautifully” in their actions both on and off the field.
