Live Updates of Monsoon Session of Parliament: On Tuesday, on the fourth day of the monsoon session of Parliament, MPs from India, the 26-party opposition, refused to call off their overnight protest demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement on the Manipur crisis; They are also protesting the suspension from the Rajya Sabha of AAP’s Sanjay Singh, who was on Monday suspended from attending the rest of the session by House chair and vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar.
The monsoon session began on July 20 and will continue till August 11. On the first day, before proceedings began, Prime Minister Modi broke his silence on Manipur, where communal clashes have been raging since the first week of May. Questioning his ’36-second’ statement, the opposition demanded that the Prime Minister would speak in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
