Live Updates of Monsoon Session of Parliament: Both houses of Parliament were adjourned till 2 pm on Monday after opposition MPs rallied to demand Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence in Parliament to make a statement on the situation in Manipur.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh was suspended for the remainder of the Monsoon session for disorderly conduct in the House. The move was demanded by Union Minister Piyush Goyal who moved a motion to suspend Singh when he protested in the well of the House.
Immediately after the adjournment, the opposition protested with placards and slogans near the Gandhi statue on the Parliament premises.
Congress MPs Manikom Thakur, Manish Tewari, Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Manoj Jha and several others had earlier adjourned the business motion in the Lok Sabha to discuss the “communal conflict in Manipur”.
