Rain News Today Live Update: IMD issues orange alert for Mumbai, red alert for Karnataka due to heavy rains in India

Odisha will face heavy rains due to cyclonic circulation in Bay of Bengal

The Met Office has predicted heavy rainfall in Odisha after a cyclonic circulation formed over the Bay of Bengal from the coast in the southern part of the state. “Under its influence, a low pressure is likely to form over the region… The system may concentrate into a depression around July 26,” the IMD said in its Tuesday evening bulletin.

Malkangiri, Koraput, Navrangapur, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam are likely to receive heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) till Tuesday morning and light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur over most parts of south interior Odisha, the IMD bulletin said.

The IMD has issued an orange alert (be prepared) for Tuesday and Wednesday. It said that on July 25, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) may occur at isolated places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada districts.
