‘My fight is against BJP’: Gudha clarifies after sacking from cabinet | Latest news India

Congress leader and former Rajasthan minister Rajendra Gudha on Sunday said his fight was against the Bharatiya Janata Party and he raised the issue of women’s safety as it was a matter of concern. “My fight is against the BJP…I just talked about the incident where a 20-year-old girl died after her throat was slit in my constituency. And he (Ashok Gehlot) accused me that I am in BJP now. I only said that we are talking about Manipur, but we must look at our state as well,” Gudha told ANI.

“Rajasthan is number 1 in crimes against women… The way he sacked me is disgraceful, he should have asked me to resign…” the Congress leader added.

Gudha was sacked by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot hours after she raised concerns about the safety of women in Rajasthan. “Instead of raising the issue of Manipur, we should introspect how we have failed to provide security to women in Rajasthan and violence against women has increased,” said Rajendra Gudha at the zero hour of the ongoing Rajasthan assembly session.

“Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has recommended Governor Kalraj Mishra to sack Council of Ministers Rajendra Singh Gudha on July 21 evening,” Raj Bhavan said in a statement shortly after.

Speaking about the action taken against him, Gudha had earlier said, “I always speak the truth, I am the one who…I have been punished for speaking the truth.”

“I have not committed any offense by making such statements… I have left no stone unturned to strengthen the state government. I have always stood by Ashok Gehlot whenever there was a problem,” he added.

Gudha, who joined the Congress from the Bahujan Samaj Party, was inducted into the cabinet on November 21, 2021. He held the portfolios of Sainik Kalyan (independent charge), Home Guard and Civil Defence, Panchayati Raj and Minister of State for Rural Development.
