After a slight cold snap on Monday that was expected, we’re looking at pleasant weather this week with afternoon temperatures of 80 to 85 degrees. Can’t ask for anything better than that?
Monday’s passage of clouds from a weather system brought some sprinkles mainly to northern parts of Clark County, but Vancouver officially recorded just a hint as of 5 p.m. Monday. I was unable to find measurable rainfall at many other stations in the county.
Between a quarter inch and about 1 inch of rain fell in northern and coastal western Washington. Nice wet rain. But as I expected, it didn’t come our way.
As I wrote this column on Monday afternoon, the main trophy of low pressure was approaching the coast. There would have been some scattered, locally measurable rainfall. I will let you know in my next column.
Anyway, that was short lived and now we’re back to what we normally call late July weather. At least we’re out of the hot stuff and won’t be back to the high 90s anytime soon, but I’m expecting warmer weather as August rolls around.
