Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Despite a day of rain on Sunday, the district has received 57 per cent more rainfall than last year till July 23, district administration records show.

According to the records, the total rainfall in the district is 607.9 mm (23.9 inches), which is almost eight inches more than the rainfall recorded in 2022 (385.2 mm i.e. 15.15 inches).

Meanwhile, the weather turned warm on Sunday, with no rain recorded in the last 24 hours. Rising temperature and humidity made the day uncomfortable for people who were hoping for another rain.

Officials of the Regional Meteorological Department said heavy rains are likely in Indore district till July 12. The monsoon trough at sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Indore, Chindwara, Raipur and Gopalpur. A cyclonic storm is also prevailing over Madhya Pradesh,” weather officials said.

Under the influence of these conditions, the city will continue to witness light to moderate rainfall for a few days, they added.

The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday night was 30.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 23.5 degrees Celsius, both a degree above normal. Humidity was recorded at 71 percent.
