San Francisco, July 24 (IANS) Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is rolling out extensive improvements to the app’s interface in Android beta, aligned with Material Design 3. Circular menus are now available to more users, along with a bottom navigation bar and a new floating action button, WABeta Info reports.
Moreover, further improvements to the interface are available with the release of new circular alerts and redesigned toggles.
A redesigned chat tab and floating action button are released to represent the incoming message bubble.
“Thanks to this update, more users will be able to try out the latest improvements to the interface that conform to the Material Design 3 guidelines,” the report said.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the messaging platform was working on an animated avatar feature for Android beta to help improve user interactions.
Animated avatars bring more life and personality to stickers, allowing for a more expressive interaction experience.
Last month, it was reported that the messaging platform is rolling out a feature in Android beta that will allow users to send high-quality videos.
Although this feature preserves the video dimensions, little compression is applied to the video, so it is not possible to send the videos in their original quality.
The default option for all videos will always be ‘Standard Quality’, so users need to select the high quality option whenever they want to send a video with better quality.
Moreover, a tag will be added to the message bubble when sending a video with a high quality option to notify the recipient that the video was sent using this feature.
