Arda Guler’s rise from Fenerbahçe hotshot to potential Real Madrid superstar has been swift but meteoric.
Several members of Europe’s elite have shown keen interest in snapping up the wily teenager this summer, with Barcelona seemingly leading the race for some time. But the allure of the Spanish capital was too much for Guler to resist in the end.
A reshuffle in attack means the Turkey international could quickly emerge as an established figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s set-up, which could facilitate the deployment of a number 10 next season – already seen in Jude Bellingham’s unofficial debut.
Guler has lit up the training ground since his arrival, but he did not take the field in Real’s US tour opener against Milan, and the status of their upcoming clash against Manchester United is also in question.

Real were forced to come from two goals down to beat Milan in Pasadena on Sunday and they next face Erik ten Haag’s Red Devils on Wednesday evening.
Kick-off is scheduled for 01:30am (BST) on Thursday in the UK and will take place at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Guler is believed to have missed Real’s win over Milan after suffering right leg discomfort in the lead-up to the match. However, his absence is said to be precautionary.
While Guler was initially expected to be his Real Madrid villain against Man Utd, the Turkish hotshot was absent from training on Monday and is now unlikely to feature in Houston.
Supporters will love to see the teenager in action, but Real do not want to escalate a minor problem. Los Blancos have fixtures against Barcelona and Juventus this summer and face Athletic Club in their La Liga opener on August 12.
