Srinagar: World Environment Week and Environment Mission LIFE 2023 celebrations concluded with an impressive closing ceremony at Amar Singh College.

Amar Singh College Principal Prof. (Dr) Sheikh Ajaz Basheer presided over and former Principal of Amar Singh College Prof. Basheer Ahmed Rather attended the function as the chief guest.

Prof. Basheer, who was the chief guest at the event, spoke at length about the importance of a healthy environment and pointed out the threats to the environment. He opined that afforestation, green initiatives, use of biodegradable materials, checking and balancing air pollution caused by industries and vehicles apart from water pollution and other eco-friendly measures will play a crucial role in environmental protection. .

During the week-long celebrations that began in June, many programs like student rallies, cleanliness drives, inter-college and inter-school painting competition, exhibition, nukad drama etc. were held in connection with the programme. Importance of a healthy environment.

Many student participants from various colleges and schools participated in the programs and delivered their message through impressive presentations.

The week-long event was jointly organized by the Department of Environmental Science, Eco Club Shejar and the NSS Wing of the college with an aim to educate people about the ill effects of single-use plastics, polluting industries and other hazards. green planet

Trophies and certificates were awarded to the participating students for their outstanding performance and active participation at the evaluation function.
